Course Overview

RIIHAN305D – Operate a Gantry or Overhead Crane gives participants the practical skills and knowledge to safely operate a gantry or overhead crane in a site-based role. The course covers how to read and apply crane documentation, identify and control hazards, prepare loads for lifting, carry out pre-start and shutdown procedures, operate crane controls to lift, transfer and lower loads, and perform routine operator maintenance and recordkeeping.

This unit applies to gantry and overhead cranes operated by pendant or wireless remote control with three or fewer powered motions. It does not cover cabin-operated cranes or cranes with additional functions beyond basic raise, lower, and travel movements.

Training is delivered by experienced industry trainers at our facility or on-site across Western Australia, making it a practical choice for businesses that need their workforce trained on the equipment they use every day.
