CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
Book with confidence.
If your plans change and you give us enough notice, we'll work with you. The further out you cancel, the more flexibility you have. Once training has started, no refund is available.
Payment terms
Course fees are GST-free, as accredited VET training delivered by a registered RTO. The price listed on each course page is the full fee — no hidden charges.

Up to $1,500: Full payment at the time of booking

Over $1,500: $1,500 deposit at booking; balance due before training starts
We accept payment online via Stripe, by direct deposit, or by EFTPOS and credit card in person. Your enrolment is not confirmed until payment is received.
Cancellation terms
Courses at Paratus Training are scheduled in advance and involve confirmed trainer time, equipment, and site resources. When a booking is made, that place is held for you — and in most cases, cannot be filled at short notice if you cancel.
Our cancellation terms reflect that reality. They are not designed to be punitive, but they do need to protect the integrity of scheduled training and the other students who have committed to the same course.
If your circumstances change, please contact us as early as possible. The more notice you give, the more options we have to work with you.
The following terms apply based on how much notice you give us before your course date:

More than 48 hours before the course (at least 2 business days): Full refund, or free transfer to another available date

Between 24 to 48 hours before the course: 50% of the course fee is charged

Less than 24 hours before the course: The full course fee applies. No refund is available.

No-show — you don't attend the course and don't notify us: The full course fee applies. No refund is available.

Late arrival: The full course fee applies. No refund is available.
Running late on the day?
If you are running late, call us as early as possible on (08) 6400 6000 — before your courses scheduled start time.
We will do our best to advise whether any arrangements can be made, but we cannot guarantee that late arrival will be accommodated. Courses start on time, and in some cases — particularly where safety inductions or practical sequences must be completed in order — it may not be possible for you to join once the session is underway.
If you are unable to be admitted, the standard cancellation terms above will apply based on the notice given.
Transfers and rescheduling
If you need to move to a different date, contact us as early as possible.
If you give us more than 2 business days' notice, you can transfer to another available date at no charge. Where a refund would otherwise apply, you may choose a transfer instead.
If you give us 2 business days' notice or less, standard cancellation terms apply and a transfer will not be available.
If we cancel
If Paratus Training cancels or reschedules a course for any reason, you will receive either a full refund or a free transfer to the next available date — your choice.
We will contact you as soon as practicable. Please note that Paratus Training does not cover travel, accommodation, wages, or other costs incurred as a result of a course cancellation or rescheduling.
Not Yet Competent outcomes
A Not Yet Competent (NYC) assessment result does not entitle you to a refund. The course fee covers training and assessment — the assessment outcome is a separate matter.
Re-assessment options are as follows:

First re-assessment — no additional charge

Second re-assessment — charged at cost; your trainer will provide a quote

After three NYC results on the same unit — re-enrolment from scratch is required at the full course fee
Extenuating circumstances
If something genuinely outside your control prevents you from attending — a serious illness, a family emergency, or a similar unforeseen event — contact us to discuss your situation. Requests are considered case by case by our CEO or Training Manager, and supporting documentation may be required.

Other fees to be aware of
These are not part of your course fee and apply only in specific circumstances:

WorkSafe WA High Risk Work Licence application fee — payable direct to WorkSafe WA, or Paratus Training can lodge the application on your behalf for $120 (this fee includes the WorkSafe fee; subject to change).

Re-issue of a Statement of Attainment — $66 (inc. GST). Alternatively, download your VET transcript free of charge via your USI account at usi.gov.au.
