Operate a high pressure water jetting system

High pressure water jetting is one of the most hazardous activities in industrial maintenance and civil operations. This course covers the skills and knowledge required to independently operate a high pressure water jetting system — including planning, setup, conducting jetting operations, and completing all compliance and shutdown requirements — in line with AS/NZS 4233.1:2013 and Safe Work Australia requirements.

Course Overview

MSMWJ304 – Operate a High Pressure Water Jetting System gives participants the practical skills and knowledge to safely and independently operate high pressure water jetting systems across industrial, civil, and maintenance environments. The course covers how to plan and prepare for jetting operations, assemble and set up Class B equipment, conduct gun and lance-based jetting operations, manage site hazards and permits, and complete all shutdown, maintenance, and documentation requirements.

This unit represents the operator level of high pressure water jetting competency. A qualified operator can work independently and supervise other team members — this is the key difference from MSMWJ202, which covers supervised use. This course applies to Class A and Class B high pressure water jetting systems and is used for cleaning, preparing, abrading, cutting, and demolishing concrete, steel, plant, equipment, vessels, and infrastructure. Training is delivered in compliance with AS/NZS 4233.1:2013 High Pressure Water Jetting Systems — Safe Operation and Maintenance and the Safe Work Australia Guide for Managing Risks from High Pressure Water Jetting.

Training is delivered by experienced industry trainers at our facility or on-site across Western Australia.
