Course Overview

RIISAM204E – Operate Small Plant and Equipment gives participants the practical skills and knowledge to safely operate a range of small plant and equipment across construction, resources, civil, and maintenance environments. The course covers how to plan and prepare for work, conduct pre-operational checks, identify and manage site hazards, operate equipment using correct techniques, carry out operator maintenance, and clean up the work area on completion.

This course is customised to the specific plant and equipment used in your workplace. Equipment commonly covered includes compaction equipment, concrete saws and mixers, compressors, generators, pumps, pressure cleaners, brush cutters, and similar small plant. Participants are typically assessed on two to three pieces of equipment.

Note that this unit does not provide the skills required to independently load and unload plant and equipment — that requires separate training.

Training is delivered by experienced industry trainers at our facility or on-site across Western Australia.
