Construction Training Fund (CTF)

Many of our courses are eligible for a rebate through the Construction Training Fund (CTF) — the WA government body that subsidises training costs for people working in construction. If you or your team are completing a high risk work licence, white card, or workplace safety course with us, it's worth checking whether you can claim part of the cost back.

What is the Construction Training Fund?

The Construction Training Fund (CTF) is a Western Australian government body funded by a levy on construction projects. That levy is used to subsidise training for people working in the WA construction industry — apprentices, existing workers, and the businesses that employ them.

Paratus Training doesn't administer CTF funding. CTF assesses and pays out claims directly. Our part is straightforward: deliver the training, and provide the paperwork you need to make your claim.

How much can you claim back?

CTF's Upskilling & Short Course Funding rebate covers up to 70% of your course cost, up to a maximum of:

  • $1,300 per course for training completed in the Perth metro area

  • $1,700 per course for training completed regionally

The exact rebate depends on your circumstances and the course. CTF assesses every claim individually, so treat these as a guide rather than a guarantee — confirm your specific entitlement with their team before you book if it's a deciding factor.

Workers can claim for themselves if they can show primary and substantial involvement in WA's construction industry — apprentices, trainees, and existing workers are all eligible to apply.

Employers can claim on behalf of staff they've paid to train, using the same documentation.

Either way, the course needs to be delivered face-to-face in WA by a registered training organisation (RTO), paid for in full, and completed with a competent result.

Who can claim CTF funding?

Which Paratus Training courses qualify

CTF funding covers occupational licensing and occupational health and safety training — which is most of what we deliver. Courses that typically fall under this category include:

  • White Card (CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry)

  • Dogging (CPCCLDG3001 – Licence to perform dogging)

  • Confined spaces (RIIWHS202E – Enter and work in confined spaces)

  • Working at heights (RIIWHS204E – Work safely at heights)

  • Elevating work platform (TLILIC0005 - Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more))

  • Forklift (TLILIC0003 – Licence to operate a forklift truck)

This isn't an exhaustive list, and CTF makes the final call on what's eligible. If you're not sure whether your course qualifies, ask us when you book or contact CTF directly.

  1. Complete your course and pass. CTF can't pay out claims for courses that aren't finished, or where the result is Not Yet Competent.

  2. Get your paperwork from us. You'll need your paid invoice (showing the invoice marked as paid) and your Statement of Attainment or certificate.

  3. Lodge your claim with CTF. Claims go through the CTF portal, not through Paratus. You have 12 months from your course completion date to lodge.

  4. Wait for assessment. CTF reviews each claim against its eligibility criteria before approving a rebate.
